Course Description

In the spring of 1925, Itasca Country Club was organized by Mr. B.B. Clover, perhaps due in part to the recent opening of Medinah Country Club the year before. Mr. Clover was made president of the club during its inception in 1925. Membership was limited to 150 members and applicants were warned that they would be ''carefully looked up as to character, habits, social standing and otherwise.'' Annual dues were $60.00, payable quarterly.

The original clubhouse was a colonial design with white walls, a green roof and a veranda running full length along the east side overlooking the course. Mr. William Mattheis was the first greenskeeper of the club. The clubhouse burned to the ground in 1935, one of two fires to strike the club.
